★★★★★★★★★★4.9 · 395 reviews · 6 hours · from $99Our pick

Travel in a small Land Rover group with guides such as Kosta, Chris, George, or Yiannis, stopping for village life, herbs, raki, olive oil, and mountain views. At sunset, enjoy prosecco and fruit before a traditional taverna dinner with unlimited wine and possible Greek dancing.

“George was an INCREDIBLE host and driver for the evening. We both had a fantastic time and felt it was worth every penny. There are multiple stops along the way with stunning settings for photos. George was instrumental in encouraging everyone to capture the moments, with his own photography skills highly commended. The evening meal was at a great local authentic Greek tavern, which also accommodated vegan options within the food offered. We would not hesitate to recommend this experience to someone else! P.s. we would recommend bringing some cash to buy the olive oil and honey along the journey.”

3.Cretan Wine Tasting Tour & Gourmet Lunch

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 109 reviews · 8 hours · from $194Top rated

Join Petros, also known as Pierre on some departures, for an eight-hour Cretan food and wine tour from Heraklion. Visit two wineries in Archanes and Peza, taste about 15 wines, sample olive oil and local products, and finish with a generous lunch paired with wine.

“Excellent wine tour. Two wineries. One very small, possibly the smallest I've visited anywhere. The other fairly commercial. Both good in their own way. Then the lunch at a shop/restaurant in Archanes. Tried around 16 wines. Most were to our liking, just a couple not. Pierre was an excellent guide, full of information about Cretan and other wines. Lunch was not huge, you'll probably want to eat again in the evening, if that is part of your value judgement. Overall, it was great to discover Cretan wines, we will look upon them favourably in future.”

“Excursion sympathique et abordable au niveau du tarif. Déçue car je m’attendais à voir un spectacle de danse grecque pendant 3h. Les représentations de danse étaient courtes. Pour combler le « temps », les touristes étaient tous invités à danser sur la scène. Une chanteuse intervenait également pour combler le temps.”

The wine tasting was also very nice with lots of variaties to try in company of the friendly owner Fereniki. Afterwards Aris’ father dropped us at the bus stop so we could easily travel back to the hotel. We would 100% recommend this tour!”

“We had such a great time on this E-bike adventure. We were on a cruise and the meeting point is a short cab ride away (you would need a cab to get anywhere either way). The bikes are easy to use and fun to ride. This is a great way to see the beauty of Crete with an experienced and informative guide. He is so helpful and makes sure everyone is having fun. The ride ends at a winery located in a local village. It is a beautiful setting where you sample local made wine, spirits and olives/olive oil. It is a perfect day and good value for your money.…”
