“We loved Prevelli beach but not the gorge. The wind at the gorge was so strong, we decided not to walk to the water. Plus you need to pay 5 euro per person to enter gorge and not much time spent there. Also cash not accepted. So a bit of a hurry. Boat trip to Prevelli is 12 euro per person. This time you had to pay cash. Also at Prevelli beach - no toilet paper. Guide knew about this in advance. We did not. So take toilet paper or tissues. Prevelli beach beautiful crystal clear water but very cold. Palm trees and creek were lovely. Nice walk along the…”
Travel by air-conditioned vehicle from Rethymno and nearby resorts to Damnoni, then take a boat to Preveli Palm Beach. You get about two hours at Damnoni and three hours at Preveli for swimming, a river walk beneath the palms, lunch, or coffee. Boat fare is extra.
“Never got there. Brought to beach to wait for boat. Never arrived after 2 hour wait Beach was rough and dangerous. Skipper of boat should have known about tides, etc…. After 2 hour wait bus took us to a back-up place for 2 hours. Nothing to do at this village. We did get our $20 boat ticket back and $5 for inconvenience”
